Right here it is ladies and gentlemen The Makita tool review You've been Waiting all year for That's right it is the Makita battery Top lights in this review the dml817 Makita lxt 18 volt and 14.4 volt battery Light and the xgt Ml001g but if you're on the cxt 12 volt Or 10.8 volt platform do not panic Because there is a cxt1 around as well It hasn't been released yet in Japan These two have come out a bit earlier Than the cxt version and I don't know if It's going to be released here in New Zealand but it does exist so you really Want one you could hunt one down Somewhere in the world but I wouldn't Bother trying just yet now the thing You're probably already asking is why is The light orange Why have they done that Well don't panic that's just a lens that Goes over the front so that they can be White or orange and I've already used These things in a power cut the other Night and with the orange on very handy Because if you leave this just sitting On the floor in the hallway in your Bathroom kitchen wherever while you've Got a power cut it's enough to let you Sort of walk through the area and see Enough to not Bang into things but it Doesn't blind you like that does because When you look at LED lights and all

These battery platforms I find them just Really annoying when you look at them They're just too blinding and end up With little colored dots floating around In the front of me eyes so that takes That away which is quite nice So I'm going to turn that one off Because it's already annoying me and When you saw me turn that off you will Have noticed one of the features you can Have this running full whack so top and Side and you can also have it just one Or the other so that means you can Direct light just where you need it keep It out of your eyes that sort of thing And With It On full whack both of these Are 300 Lumen lights and the light color Is 5000k when you whack it onto the Front you get 150 out the front there's Four LEDs in the front four on the top Basically put on the top 150 lumens out The top so lxt xgt both exactly the same Amount of lumens no difference to them At all apart from the battery that Clips On the bottom right let's test the Lumens I have a very fancy Lux meter Here and we're going to try the Different setting see what the readings Are so I have my 40 volt xgt light here Hanging off the edge of the bench one Meter away from the light so by my Reckoning we're getting about 130 from The um just from the front light which Should be you know 150 it's hovering

Just around that 130 it changes slightly If we angle the battery a little bit Because some of the light is going Straight up in the air it's not going Straight towards my one-pointed Lux Meter and if I then put it on the full Whack we are going to not get 300 Because 50 of the light is going Straight up in the air so if I angle This we should get it up a bit more Come on let's get 200 yeah so That's about 45 degree angle so that you Get about half and half of the The top and the front light going Towards the meter and we have hovering Around 210 Lux which reminds me of you After the cxt one that's only a 200 Lux Light the lxt next GT 300 and the cxt 200 100 out the front 100 at the top and If you want to try and track it down Here as the model number it will be Either the ml107 or the Ml107d depending on what part of the World you're in but not only are these Lights they also have a USB button here On the front that you can turn on and Off And a USB a port with a little cover Over it Let's um test that out shall we what Shall I run on these battery lights how About a USB light And it's up the wrong way as always so The light on your tool here isn't enough

You could always plug another light into It now you can have Double elighted Look at that eh So nice small compact light I can clip This one Onto something else and have that one Sitting on the floor next to me all Whatever So the USB works there you go it is a Five volt USB with 2.4 amp output one Thing I wish they had included is a belt Clip because when I was walking around In the power cut the other night I Thought I could clip this on my belt and Just walk around so it's always lighting My feet up and the area in front of me Then that would have been super handy But it doesn't have a belt clip but You'll see that it has a loop here and a Loop here for putting the strap through You can get an optional strap that has a Hook on it for hanging it up or Depending on what you've got around you Could yeah hook it just straight off That almost If you had something thin enough to go Through there but I just wish it had the Slot and screw hole like the drills and Impact drivers too so you could clip it Straight on a belt I'll just turned off Some of the other Lighting in here so we Can take a better look at how they Illuminate things now 300 lumens of

Light May not sound like much but when You're up in a roof space underneath the Floor then if you've got this sitting Next to you and you're just drilling a Few holes it is pretty bright It'll light up enough to see for quite a Few meters around you And if you hang it up That's now about One meter above the bench And it lights it up perfectly fine to do Most small jobs You wouldn't want to be doing a fine Painting by it or anything but you know Pretty damn good really And the orange one looks like That Just doesn't takes off the the harsh Glare and according to Makita I wrote down this from the instruction Manual was rather interesting Um it was particularly bad English for a Makita manual we haven't seen one that Bad for many years and I had to write This bit down So This Is How They explain that little Orange cover A detachable cover to light lens part For changing light output to warm color With high relaxation effect yeah I also Noticed they spout color wrong but then I saw an American website on the manual Which was on the New Zealand Makita site So I'm guessing it's the American Manual

Which might explain why it also said Don't put tweezers inside the tool and Don't put USB leads in your mouth so I Had to use these the other night to cook My dinner because as I say Power went off about 5 30 I was just About to upload a video Power stuffed me Up I then was going to cook a pork belly In the oven for a couple hours I'm glad I just went and got these lights They're not as winding looking as they Are on the camera So I need something to help prepare Dinner because the power has gone I've Only got these a couple hours ago And now it's dark and the power's gone Off and how am I going to cook this bit Of pork belly hmm Could be tricky of the pattern come back On soon but that went out the window Because the power didn't come back on For four and a half hours This is a two and a half amp hour Battery this is a 5 amp hour battery Let's put some more lights back on I'll Continue explaining this and so Basically they are both the same battery Just this one is wired definitely to be 40 volt this one 18 volt this one ran For around seven hours And still hasn't gone down a bar yet This one probably ran for about five and It hasn't gone down a bar yet either so How long will it take those bars to go

Down Well with the 18 volt the 6 amp power Battery the biggest lxt 18 volt battery You'll get 28 hours on the 300 so like It is there if you put it on one of the Other modes that one or that one you'll Get 49 hours of run time so fairly Considerable but not as considerable of Course as he kicks the tripod as the 40 Volt that 2.5 amp hour battery will give You 23 hours in the low sitting and 40 In the high setting so not as much as a 6 amp hour on here of course but that of Course is a very small battery so the 2 Amp Hour in full whack will give you 17 Hours the 4 amp hour will give you 37 Hours the 5 amp hour will give you 47 Hours and the 8 Amp Hour in the highest Setting will give you 77 hours or if You're only going to run it with one Light on 132 hours so you're not going to need to Change an 8 Amp Hour battery on that Very often although it does look a Little bit silly whereas of course with The 18 volt it's never going to be any Bigger than that see a lot of people Still confused about Makita 18 volt Batteries they don't seem to realize That they're the same physical size no Matter which one you buy from 3 amp Upwards and they weigh the same as well Within a few grams So the 3M power 4 amp power 5 amp power

6 amp power Makita Batteries are exactly The same size and weight is the one here The only ones that are different are the 1.5s and the twos which are half size They only have one row of five cells Instead of two rows of five cells like This battery does and if you want to Know this one has 20 cells two rows of 10. And yes the video of that is not too far Away as is the video of this couple of Little 12 volt outdoor pruning apparati Or is it apparatuses it says this is now When it comes to these orange lens Covers I'm not sure if every region in The world will get those as for the Release these will be rolling out in Most of the world over the next couple Of months and if you're in New Zealand You can order one now from your local Makita dealer if they don't have them in Stock yet I'll put a link to tradie Republic where I get my stuff down in The description and I guess that's about All there is to it I mean Yeah I can't really waffle on for long About these can I so thanks for watching Guys and make sure you're subscribed if You want to see or So once again thanks for watching and I'll see you on another Makita review Real soon don't forget to subscribe if You haven't already if you're a Makita Fan because this is tools and stuff home
