It's finally here the long-awaited 4 amp Hour F battery from Makita 40 volt G'day everyone a bit of a warning before We get stuck into this one if this is Your first time ever watching a tool Review or your first time watching the Tool review on my Channel or you don't Know that much about Makita X GT that Sort of thing then this is not the video For you this is for Tool nerds that's Right I'm calling you guys tool nerds And a large percentage of those watching You are here because you want to see the Difference between this battery and the Old Makita X GT4 amp power battery this Is a Makita 45 in this video we're going To be able to empower some of this Out now you're probably very familiar With this battery it is the most common Batteries It was the first battery released in Most of the world and it comes in most Of the kits and that sort of thing Whereas this is a brand new Makita xgt 40 volt Max 4 amp power battery that has An f on it Now what does the f stand for well I'm Trying to limit the swearing in my Videos because some people don't seem to like it so I'm not going to tell You what I think the F stands for side By side is there any difference well the Sticker definitely is different they've Dropped the blue teal sort of color that

They normally have and they've just gone For a silver and black Motif the 40 volt Has dropped somewhat in size and they've Amplified the 4-0 here and the F doesn't Actually say 4 amp power on it like this One does when it comes to the physical Size of the battery as far as I can tell There is absolutely No difference to the physical size of This battery versus this battery as you Can see the sticker on the front Slightly different hopefully they've Come up with a better glue or something To put these ones on with because as you Will be aware of you've used these a lot They come off quite easily a lot easier Than the 18 volt Makia ones do so if It's physically the same size exactly The same size with the real difference With some rails this is going to fit on Some things that this is a new one won't Fit on that a bit like the 5 amp hour And 8 amp power F batteries well not That I can see Looking at them like I said there's no Extra tabs of plastic or anything I can See nothing emitted They look identical Two black polycarbonate bricks so There's one more physical property to Check before we move on and that is the Weight I have tiered this scale to this Battery

We remove that we'll see that it is 1016 Grams when we put this one on it will Tell us the difference 71.72 72 grams later Than the old one so why is it a little Bit lighter so is the reason this one's Lighter than this one because this one Has some sort of pouch cell in it like a Power stack battery and this one has Cylindrical cells I'm afraid not because If we take a look at the bottom we will See that they both have the same grooves The same size physically so presumably They have Cells in them the same as these Cylindrical 21 700 cells or are they 21 700 cells is this something else in here That Makita have come up with that Nobody else has because no one really Seems to know what is in these Makita obviously no but I haven't found Anything online there's been a lot of Speculation about it And that leads me to think I'm going to Have to end up pulling this apart by the End of this video which I'm not entirely Looking forward to If I'm honest but some of the numbers Makita have given for this mean that These cells have to be more powerful Than pretty much any other cells that Are currently available or that were Known to be available at least when this Was announced Let's now look at the

Numbers this is where things start to Get a little confusing Because on Makita New Zealand's website For instance They say in the text that it's 144 Watt Hours yet in an image as shown here on My phone you'll see that the 4 amp power F battery is 180 Watt hours And 144 for the standard 4 amp power now 180 Watt hours is the same as the 5 amp Hour F battery So what's going on there especially when The 5 amp power F battery is 18650 sales 20 of them and the new battery Presumably Is 10 21 700 cells we might not know That entirely Until I have to pull it apart later and The next interesting number is how many Watts these can put out what is the peak Watt output of each of these batteries So shit's about to get murky here is This 180 what hours or 144 Now it should be 144 right because this Is a 4 amp hour 40 volt battery this is A 4 amp hour 40 volt battery the nominal Value for these is 36 volts if we take 36 volts and we multiply it by 4 amp Hours what do we get 144 so they should both have 144 on the Bottom if they do both have 144 on the Bottom though How does this battery differ from this

One what's different apart from an F Printed on it what could be different If they're the same Watt hours and the Same amp hours they have the same run Time right so there's nothing on these To denote they can put out more whack Apart from that if Nothing in the numbers because if we Take a look on the bottom we will see They both read 144 what hours the only other real Difference on the bottom of the Batteries here if we take a look at this One we will see that the cells are made In Singapore and the pack is assembled In China Whereas this one these cells are made in Japan Peck is still put together in China and Don't mind that that's just a personal Code for me when I'm making YouTube Videos so Makita have made a mistake in Some of their marketing which has gone Out in brochures and things all around The world I've seen it in lots of Different places now saying that this is 180 Watt hours or technically they've Got to put 144 on the bottom but are They saying it will still run as long as A 5 amp hour battery shouldn't in theory It should put out more whack Than this but Run for the same length of Time Now we want to confuse it even further

And muddy the waters a bit more 1400 Watts 2100 watts are you getting confused yet If we take a quick overview of all the Batteries here taking this one out of The picture for a moment The four amp power battery is the same As the 8 Amp Hour battery in that it's Two of those stuck in there they use the Same cells And it goes the same with those 10 cells 20 cells 10 cells 20 cells 18 650 cells 18 650 cells 21 700 21 700 and They're the exact same cells and I think These ones what they put out 25 amps now We're adding another number in and these Put out about 30 30 35 I'm getting Confused now as well so there's so many Numbers we've got voltages we've got Amps we've got n Powers we've got Watts We've got Watt hours it all gets a bit Confusing I know but what hour basically Means one watt for an hour right so 144 Watt hours means if you were running Something for one For one watt of power coming out of this It'll run for 144 hours or if you're Using something at 144 Watts it should Drain it in one hour you know in an Ideal World now Makita rates the 2.5 amp Hour at 1050 Watts this one at 1400 Watts this one at 2100 watts and this One at 2800 watts and they also rank This one at 2100 Watts same as that one

So What they're saying is I think Is that this battery will give you the Same amount of oomph as this one so It'll give you that power boost that you Might need for a high drain device like An angle grinder or a miter saw or a Planer something that's a bit crunchy Something more than a standard drill or Impact driver or something like that But it will run for the length of time Of that battery or does it the only way We're really going to know is to go test A damn thing out isn't it so we're going To go and see if this will run any Longer than one of these These are both New batteries this one I think has only Been charged once and this one I haven't Charged at all yet we will stick it on The charger shortly first I might just Chuck it on the battery tester able to Stick the two of them on the battery Tester see if there's anything different There shouldn't be we'll also do Temperature tests on these to see if one Of them gets hotter than the other this One should run the coolest it's got more Cells in it Ah I just thought of more stuff to say You know about the amp so basically This has more cells so it's got those Cells in it like we've established so Even though those cells don't put out as Much as the cells in these there's twice

As many of them so they don't have to Work as hard so therefore it can put out A bit more because it's doubling them up Because to get the 40 volts or 36 volts Nominal you've got 10 cells which are 3.6 volts nominal each and that adds up To 36. this has that and then it's got It again so you then run those in Parallel and so each one basically is Working half as much if you were trying To get the same amount of grunt or you Can bump it up a bit of course and get a Bit more power out of each one and still Run them cooler than you can if you were Only running 10 cells but they are Smaller battery cells in these because These are 18650 which means they're 18 Millimeters in diameter and 65 Millimeters long and these are 21 700s Which means they're 21 millimeters in Diameter and 70 millimeters long so They're a bit bigger physically so that Capacity also means they don't have to Work as hard and they can run a bit Cooler as well when compared to just a Single 10 cell 18650 battery and now I'm Just beginning to Confuse myself and it's making my brain Hurt and I want to just go and test These things now so let's get into that Okay let's take the standard 40 volt 4N Power battery this one should have one Charge hopefully Fairly new one I haven't used and as you

Can see I've just charged it up to once It's currently 15 degrees on the inside Celsius 59 Fahrenheit And it's sitting at 40.6 volts now That'd get up to about 41.2 usually when they're freshly Charged but it's been sitting for a few Weeks and as they sit they slowly go Down Anyway let's take a look at the new F Battery which should read zero Up here There we go zero charges showing that it Is about a quarter or thirty percent Charged It's how they come from the factory when You buy a battery from most tool Companies you'll notice that they are Never fully charged they're half or less Usually that's a safer way to store them Right so 16 degrees on the inside so one Degree different there and 32.9 volts so It needs a good charge up And there's a couple of other things on Here which won't register yet because it Hasn't been used once they're used it'll Start looking like a bit of a bar graph Some diagnostic stuff at the end if you Want to know more about this thing I'll Put a link up in the top Corner where's The top Corner up here and down in the Description right now before we can go Any further we obviously need to charge This battery up and Makita say it takes

The same length of time to charge as one Of these so you're looking at 45 minutes On the rapid charger and that would also Be 45 minutes on the Dual rapid charger I think it's 67 minutes On the Um what's it RC charger so the F battery Has been charged let me check it on here See what voltage we're up to should be About 41.2 like I said earlier Showing the one charge there now 21 Degrees 41.2 The other one I'm just giving a tickle Up just to um make sure that they're Both at the same level of voltage and Should be done any moment There it is now If you come And on you go To charges 18 degrees that's nice and Cool Cooler than the F battery interesting Didn't have to charge for as long though Because it was just giving it a tickle Up and there we go 41.2 volts Now I've just been thinking about what I Run these with to drain the batteries And I think the VAC is probably One of my quickest battery draining Devices Uh yeah I think I'll use the VAC I have The standard 4 amp hour battery in the VAC this is the 40 volt Vc004g and she's a good little vac and

We're going to run it full whack and We're going to see how long it takes and At the end of it we're also going to Once it's depleted just check how warm It is the battery is reading 17 degrees Just before I chucked it in here so Let's go Right you can really hear it winding Down now Belong Now we're going to get to 12 minutes [Music] Okay so about 11 45 I'll now Chuck that Straight on to the battery checker and We'll see how warm it is well she feels Pretty warm in the hand What's it like on the inside 78 degrees Celsius 171 Fahrenheit wow they go up a lot Don't they remember started on 17 61 degrees It's a big increase Will the new battery get that hot Well let's take a wee look at what it's Currently sitting on it's hopefully cool Down a little bit We want it down to 17 degrees we're Currently on 19. I'll go check it in the Fridge okay out of the fridge let's see What we're at 18 that's close enough Right let's go For both of these tests the battery was Used in the same port on the VAC this

Left hand one here right so this is the F battery Turned the Lights On she was getting a Bit dark let's go Whoa Okay Upset 11 19 so it feels warm in the hand just Like the last one See if she's fully depleted Whether it cut out slightly early says It's completely done and dusted 60 degrees Celsius Now that is interesting That's a significant difference isn't it So we're looking at 42 degrees versus 61. Wow so it stayed a lot cooler Unless of course all that heat builds up In the last 20 seconds of run time Because this lasted about 26 seconds Less than the other one we'll call that Within a margin of error sort of thing Plus batteries as you charge them they Do change In that when you charge them the first Couple of times it takes a few charges Just to get them going to their sort of Full Optimum level we'll let both of Those cool down naturally Overnight And I'll come back to this tomorrow good Morning everybody the batteries have had All night to cool down as you can see

They're both completely flat so it's Time for the s t t Right how many people go to this level Of Of testing for you guys huh let's go Turn on the charger Who's gonna win place your bets now the F or the non-if Who gives an F So we're getting close to that 45 minute Mark now who's gonna win The suspense is killing me These blue lights have been on for a Quarter of an hour now And there we have it About eight seconds before the 45 minute Mark the new F battery is charged oh and They're bang on 45 the old one So the F battery was 26 seconds quicker To finish when used in the back And it was eight seconds quicker to Finish On the charger Read into that watch you will Basically there's no difference so far Now what are we going to do to really Test these batteries so we're going to Use the xgt planer we're going to start With the standard 4M power then we're Going to do the 5f then we're going to Do the four if if Makita are correct This one will cut slower than these two These two should be the same let's see If that's true three millimeter depth of

Cut Foreign [Music] Little catch there on the knot You could hear the tool straining a Little bit but did the job all right Let's go five amp out All right [Music] I'm now going to just do the original 4 Empire again [Music] Yeah All right new four amp out [Music] Okay Well it did feel a bit more like the Five than the four So let's have a look at those on screen Next to each other [Music] I'm gonna go grab a grinder now actually Instead of using the grinder I think I'll use this circular saw to test the RPMs this is the one I have used in Other videos for checking RPM between Batteries it is the Hs003g it's the first circular saw Released in most of the world the 01 and The O2 only still being released in Japan I do of course have those though if you Haven't already seen them they're up in The top corner of the screen about now

So this saw is rated at 6000 RPM According to the name plate here So let's see if we can get to that Number or whether we go over that number With the new battery as soon as the Batteries are finished charging up again Of course standard 4 amp hour battery Straight off the charger [Music] It's around 6070 which is what I've gotten in the Past from a 4 amp hour battery let's now Try the 5 amp out Only about 6 150. let's take a look at The The new 4 amp out so we need it to be at Least six one fifty What do you reckon What's it gonna do [Music] Started off around 6 250. So a couple of hundred more RPM than the Four and even more than the five And this has just come off the charger Wow Maybe there is something to this battery And seeing as we're here I might as well Show you the other ones right so the 2.5 I think runs at about five eight Let's have a wee look see [Music] Bad let's grab an eight as well from the Pile And This one should get into the six three

Mark Well look at that it has started about Six three dropping pretty quick not too Much more Then the new four I'm sure that this five was Higher before just gave it another Little charge let's see what happens Started just over 6200 dropping pretty Quick though now I know that wasn't the Most scientific set of tests in the World but this one certainly does seem To have a bit more pip than this one and Even slightly more I've found than this 5 amp power now this 5 amp hours had About 40 charges let's have a look and Let's see exactly how many charges it's Had 45 So not a huge amount should still be in Its prime and yeah the bl4040f seems to Be a little bit more powerful when using The planer those two just feel a bit Smoother just you can go at that just Faster natural pace the plane is sort of Dictates the pace and how how fast you Can push it through push it too fast it Starts crapping out pretty quick as You'll see in the stall test here I'm Now going to try a stall test between The two fours so as soon as I have the New one on here let's go with the F Battery first I'll start off then I'm Going to just go as fast as I can

[Music] Oh Once you saw the chip size change there That's because it's clogged up it's what Happens when you go too fast but plenty Of juice there it didn't You can push it pretty hard let's go With the other four Original battery stall test [Music] It's hard to push it as fast we need um Talk to his channel to to do it properly Once he gets hold of this he can put it Through his machines and his numbery Things and on it but I'm here Trying to show you what it's like in More of a real world situation but if I Could send this to him easily I would But I guess you want to now see what It's like on the inside because why is This better why is it better than this One that's got 20 cells and why is it Better than this one which in theories Got the same size at least 21 700 cells So why are these ones so much better are They using the new tablet cells There's only really one way to find out Isn't there I think it's void warranty time so why Will this void my warranty well if you Take a look at the bottom of any of your Makita Batteries there's four screw Holes they've all got a little Polycarbonate Believe It or Not plug in

One of the holes over the screws so That's been removed Makita know you've Opened this battery up So that's what's about to happen Where's my drill if you want to get into One of these you're going to need a Torx 10 bit with a hole in the middle to go Over the pin that is in the middle of Each of the screws on this thing let's Use the td173 on this one or we better Take it off before drop it down to one Right let's go Wow Dude Three and how do we get to number look At this light on this thing isn't this Awesome Love this thing if you want to know Where you can get one of these you can Only get them from Japan at the moment So I'll put a couple of links down there You can get them in several different Colors not just Makita teal but you can Get them in purple and green And black right now we need to drill out That bun I should probably flatten this Thing first so I'm less likely to get a Jolt off it anyway let's I've got a 5.5 Millimeter drill bit here we're just Gonna Carefully see if we can drill this out [Music] She's out same size screws all the rest Just with that little Annoying bit of

Plastic in the way right We are in [Music] What are we going to find Well that looks pretty standard number Eight talks doesn't have oh yeah they do Have a pin in them All right this is holding the whole Battery assembly into the base of the Battery Three and four Okay what are the sounds gonna be brace Yourselves Are you ready Are they gonna be something exciting What color are they going to be are they Going to be green They're going to be purple Gonna be red they're going to be yellow What color are they gonna be Well they are completely enclosed you Can see the color and they are the color That I was expecting they are a green Color because remember this gives the Same power as that but this weighs under A kg Whereas this one I've forgotten what it Weighs one moment 1.328 kgs and the other one was 970 Wasn't it so about 350 grams difference And that's a lot 350 grams is a lot that Is the difference between a Milwaukee Framing nailer and a hikoki framing Nailer just so you know

There we go I got to say framing nailer Inside of Makita video One day one day now I think this does up To 60 amps between 57 to 60 amps so I've Been Told Um and what was the this is about 25 and The original 4 amp hour about 30 to 35. That's 13 35 and that's Up to 60. that's a big jump But it's good that it stayed so cool I Like that it stayed cool looking at it Here next to a standard 4 amp power Which I guess I should clean off so we Can see if things are the same you can See that silicon helps stop the Dusty from getting into your Electronics taking a look at the boards On the top of each battery clearly the New one here on the right this one Clearly well used we've got an extra Shunt resistor here on the new battery So two here three here that's probably Of course the extra the extra current we Need and up the top here we've also got Some different things going on and even The connections we've got three copper Ones here these ones aren't copper but These three are that might be to help With better connectivity to the Connections on your tool or better Current transfer but we're getting close To that point where employees of Makita Need to look away Um if they haven't already because of

This of course this is a cell out of the Battery on the left the original 40 volt 4 amp power batteries have these cells In them murata VTC 6as very good cell But that can't be what's in this one So look away now of your work for Makita Because I had to do some exploratory Surgery And this was my first attempt I thought I just took a punt and I thought second One in I'm gonna go with that one and as I leave it it up the plastic I could see Some writing and I thought have I hit The right spot and then when I got a bit Closer I thought oh no the writing I Want is going to be further around then When I went back up the other end of the Battery I could see a little bit of Writing through a gap so I got into it Here and I got the numbers I needed So for all those who want to know Because as far as I'm aware this is a World first Tools and stuff is going to give you Another world's first I'm going to tell you what cells are in Here now it's pretty easy to find out Information about these you can find out The chemistry the the amps you know what It can do at different temperatures Everything you want to know there's tons Of data on this but there isn't any data That I can find on these new cells that Are in here and what are those new cells

They are Morata Which is basically Sony but that's for Another video VX 40. These are VTC 6A these are vx40 Google It quick see if you can find anything Other than somebody selling dodgy ones That look like this that have clearly Been taken out of I'm guessing reject Packs from either Makita or Milwaukee May be using these cells as well in Their new MX fuel batteries by the looks Of things now the cells that are in this Battery are according to the codes that Are on it made in Japan on the 18th of December 2022 if you want the full nerd Stat so are these vx40 tablets battery Cells Well I'm assuming so but we don't know For sure and I'm not going to pull it Apart any further to find out we'll just Have to wait and see until somebody who Knows a bit more comments down in the Comment section or The data sheets are released so we can Find out what the not only the chemical Makeup of these batteries are but Whether they are they're tablets or Tabbed now Buy tablets it it's kind of a Misleading term I feel Um I'm going to quickly show you what The difference is as far as I'm aware I'll do a little mock-up for you I'll do A little demonstration I'm just going to

Have to clear the bench okay so it's Just easier to shift benches all Together now I'm going to do a mock-up Of the inside of this cell first so this Is the VTEC 6A which is a cell that uses Tabs what you have inside a battery Cells such as this that's inside all Your power tool batteries you have the Anode and the cathode which are going to Be represented by the foil you have Something that separates them like this And they then roll up this is very Simplistic there are other parts inside This battery as well like overloading Protection heat protection things other Things to stop These layers from touching each other And stuff but basically you would then Roll that up okay and that goes inside There Now to get the positive and the negative Terminals on these you need to access These two bits of foil without them Touching and everything of course and The way they get the energy out is to Use a tab so they weld a little tab on The top of here zip Like so And then do one on the other side as Well so All the energy that's stored in here has To flow through this now this foil and It will be a foil it might even be Aluminum some of them have aluminum in

Them they'll some have copper there's All sorts of things so this will be Smeared basically coated in your lithium And whatever the chemistry makeup of Your particular battery cell is they're All a bit different but they will be Coated on a piece of foil like so and Then this is on the end here welded on Because it's welded on there is the Chance that it can a not be welded on Too good Bit like this one If there's a little Burr or something on There when this is rolled up it could Cut through our protective layer and Touch the other foil the anode and the Cathode touch each other inside your Battery you're in for trouble that's When you're going to get a fire or an Explosion some sort of short and Meltdown of your battery so that's a bit Of a weak point in that regard also all The energy has to flow through here and Then out through this one Tab and the Bigger your cell gets the bigger this Gets the harder it is for the energy to Flow all the way down to that Tab and You've got areas of the battery that Never get drained properly because it's All taking the path of least resistance So certain areas get used more than Others it's not that efficient and also Because it's going out through that one Tab it builds up a lot of heat around

That tab all the Energy's got to rush Out through that Tab and that creates a Very hot spot there around the tab and So you'll end up with hot spots inside The battery which can cause them to Swell up in certain places and create Little gas pockets and all sorts of Things so what is different about the Tablets well as far as I'm concerned They shouldn't be called tablets really Because they should be called multi-tab Because there's a lot of tabs on a Tablesp battery cell but instead of Having these ones welded on like this They look a little bit more like this Taking a look at our foil now you'll see There is a bunch of tabs all the way Along the edge So when you roll this up And remove your pencil All the tabs can then fold over Unfortunately scale wise this isn't Working too well but now they're all Folded over and instead of just having One little tab that all the energy can Flow through it can now just shoot Straight up wherever it wants and out of There instead of doing the full length Of this piece of foil it can just do the Width to get everything out you know That the shortest distance is now this Instead of the full length of that piece Of foil that we had so the energy can All flow out much quicker giving you

More amps and not only that less heat Because it doesn't all have to go Through that one tiny little point that Massive point of resistance for this Battery now that resistance is cut Dramatically by doing that and of course It'd be the same on the negative end and There you have it so doing this we keep The battery cooler it hopefully lasts Longer and you're also getting more Power to your tool So it's win-win really isn't it so is That what Makita have done in this new Battery well until we find out the specs Of those new cells the vx40s I'm I'm Afraid I don't know But that's what I think they've done now For a change I've been getting a little Bit of help on this video from somebody In regards to battery chemistry and what Have you and that person knows who they Are so cheers for that man I will sort You out with something So that is the new Makita battery the New high output 4 amp hour battery why Don't Makita rate high output on their Batteries I think they need to up their Game in that regard to keep up with Everybody else everyone else has got Their marketing names that they put on The side of the batteries it's so hard To tell with Makita Batteries which ones Are the high output if you're not fully Into the tool brand like how are you

Supposed to know what the difference is Between a standard battery that doesn't Have an f on it and one that does have An f on it doesn't tell you in any way Shape or form whereas at least Milwaukee Have high output written on them it Gives you some clue as to why it's Different in price and why you should Buy one over the other anyway Makita Marketing aside I think I'll better put This back together and see if it still Works and I can't wait for all the Safety police comments about me taking This part without gloves on and with all These other metal objects kicking around On the bench anyway she's back together Let's now try it out Foreign She still works all good and just won't Be taking that in for any warranty Purposes because they might figure out I've been into it and uh Makita when are You going to release the 40 volt Like this one with the ring light Look at that look how Superior that is Over that but at the moment still only Available in Japan as far as I'm aware And in lots of different colors like I Said take a look down in the description If you want to know more about those and I guess we're about at an end why did I Take that out a shot I mean this is the The The article of the moment now earlier on

In the video I told you there was no Difference with the rails they look Identical they're the same width here Which is true right those two batteries Are the same Now one of these batteries is the new Battery one of them is a new standard 4 Amp hour battery Now if I take away the standard 4 amp Hour battery and I put a different Standard 4 amp hour battery in its place Let's see this one Hello What is going on here This is different to this [Laughter] Something I hadn't noticed until I Pulled apart this old 4 amp power over Here And looked at the top and thought hang On a minute that looks thin whereas this Is thick so some of my older batteries Such as this one which was in my Original kit so that one is from 2000 that battery was made this one's Made in 2023 and the other new standard 4M power I have been showing you in this Video is 2022 the one that I pulled Apart that I first noticed the thin Rails on is a 2021 so it seems from Somewhere in beginning of 2022 or the End of 2021 they changed to these fatter Rails on the 4M power now the fatter bit Is on the inside the outside of the

Rails exactly the same obviously so These newer batteries have this tapered Sort of edge here going down and fatter At the bottom whereas the old one here Is straight up and down no taper and Then drop down much thinner whether They've done that just to bulk it up Because they can or whether that is to Stop it from going on other tools the um The other F batteries the five and the 8 Amp Hour also have this exact same bit Here but they also have another piece of Plastic that stops them from going under The tools but I don't think this will Stop it going on anything Certainly shouldn't and I haven't Noticed anything between my you know Using these four amp hour ones and the Old four amp hour ones I haven't noticed Any problems with any tools but if I Find them You will of course be the first to know I'll quickly just show you the five and The eight now to tell you what I'm Talking about let's have a look at five And eight just zoom out in any bit there We go so this is oh I've got 280 dumbass Five of course now being the shorter one No plastic on this side but a square bit Of plastic here and eight Square bit of Plastic on both sides so they've done That so that they can put things on the Tools that stop these batteries from Going on if they don't want this much

Oomph going on to a tool or of the tools Small and they don't want the weight of This battery on it There's a few things that the 8 amp Power doesn't fit on if you want to know What they are have a look up in the top Corner or if I remember I'll put the Video up there and down in the Description I made a video of what this Doesn't fit on like for instance these Two don't go on the top handle chainsaw So that's a new little change I hadn't Noticed until I started making this Video is the upgrade and power worth the Upgrade and price well if it lasts Longer and by that I mean over the life Of the battery being cooler well that's Great you know you get more Cycles out Of it would be a positive that would Make it worth more money for sure if You're a casual user maybe not if you're A professional user then yeah this would Or should basically become the standard Because like I say it's the size of this A little bit lighter the power of the Bigger 5 amp hour battery so I guess I'm Saying this is now The best Makita 40 volt battery Until of course They release an f one of these what will That be able to do well we'll have to Wait and see thanks for watching guys if You like Makita videos particularly 40 Volt stuff make sure you hit that

Subscribe button down there there's also Patreon down there if you want to get These videos earlier I'm guessing the Patreon version for this one is going to Be Quite a bit longer than the um the one You have just watched because yeah There's been a lot of fluffing around While I've been making this video so I Don't know how much of that's going to Make it into the patreon version but It'll be more than on this version and You'll be seeing a lot more of this Battery over the next few weeks when I Review other Makita 40 volt tools so Cheers again and um have a good one The next one will probably be it's not Going to fit in the shot too well here Is it It's this It's a little baby A little baby rotary hammer and his Little Dusty friend Okay thanks guys see you on another one Very soon cheers
